Thyra of Benedor

In the warrior kingdom of Benedor, every first child is stillborn. It is a tragedy so common no one questions it. Thyra, heiress to the throne, is a happy and carefree little girl. As if lured by some mysterious force, young Thyra stumbles upon a secret garden. There, surrounded by the graves of victims of the Great War, a curse she does not yet understand is engraved onto the marble floor.

Eighteen-year-old Thyra, now a shieldmaiden eager to prove herself to her subjects,  has done her best to keep the secret garden out of her thoughts. But after she falls pregnant from her arranged marriage to a northern prince, she finally uncovers the truth; cast by a long-exiled witch king during the war that defeated his kingdom, the curse from the garden is the real reason firstborns perish. 

With only five months left to save her unborn child, Thyra and her prince must journey across troll and fae infested landsto the Witch Kingdom and end the curse. Will Thyra be able to forge peace with an ancient enemy or will ancient wounds be too deep to mend?
